The main funding sources for the Bank of Åland are demand deposits and time deposits from core private customers and their companies. Covered bond is the main long-term funding instrument. The Bank of Åland also issues preferred senior unsecured bonds to maintain a balanced funding mix. The long-term funding and capital needs are filled through the EUR and SEK transactions under the bank’s long-term programme, combined Senior Preferred Note, Covered Bond, Tier 2 Note and Additional Tier 1 Capital Note Programme. The short-term funding and cash management needs are filled through the EUR and SEK money markets and under the bank’s short-term SEK CD programme. The Bank of Aland has credit and covered bond ratings from Moody's Ratings.
